February 7th - Ski Trip

On Mark's birthday, we took Kate up skiing for her first time. She was really excited, but didn't really understand what we were taking her to do.
Here she is as we were pulling out of the driveway.
We had a great lunch at Kickapoo in Keystone before getting skis and heading up the mountain.

Mark got Kate all geared up.
Here we are on the gondola.

Getting a little instruction from Daddy
This is called the "magic carpet". It takes the kids from the bottom of the hill back to the top. Like a big conveyor belt inside a tunnel. Kate thought it was great.

Here are Kate and Mark doing their "funky ski dance"

I didn't have high expectations for the day. Didn't think Kate would be that into it, or that she would get tired after one or two runs. Boy was I wrong. Kate LOVED it. She was screaming and belly laughing the whole time and didn't want to stop, not even for hot chocolate. She was a trooper. Didn't seem to mind falling down or being cold. We weren't even back to the car when she was asking when we could go again! She wore herself out. Barely made it out of the parking lot before she crashed out. Mark loved spending his birthday doing something he loves with his little angle.
