Beauty and the Beast

Last Saturday Mark and I took Kate to see Colorado Ballet's production of Beauty and the Beast. Being that Kate loves Beauty and the Beast, and everything about ballet and princesses, we thought it would be really exciting for her. She did great, and loved watching the dancers. She didn't quite understand that she was supposed to be quiet during the show, but did pretty well for only being 2 and a half. She's already talking about going the ballet again.
Here are a few pictures of Kate and I as we were getting ready to go. Kate is practicing her moves. I wish I'd taken the camera and gotten a few pictures of Kate at the show. Next time...

Arts and Crafts

I've been trying to do lots of arts and crafts and cooking projects with all my kiddos lately. It's been cold and yucky, so we haven't gotten outside much. Here are a couple of our recent projects.

We made play-doh last week. It was a very messy project but Kate and Sarah had fun. It's made for hours of entertainment so far.

For Valentine's Day, we made heart shaped sugar cookies (thanks for the recipe Lisa!) and the kids decorated them with pink and purple frosting and heart shaped candies. I did this with all the kids, but only got pictures of Kate and Hayden. This project kept them quiet for a really long time. It took Kate and Hayden a good half hour to decorate and eat one cookie.

Bathtime Fun

One of Kate's favorite things is to play in the bath. Last night she was having a blast dropping her Dora bath toy in the water and making big splashes. I love her silly belly laugh.

Happy Birthday Mark

Sunday was Mark's birthday. Kate was very excited to celebrate. We spent the day at home, hanging out and watching the Super Bowl.
Here is Kate making Daddy's birthday card. It had MANY stickers.

Kate had a lot of fun making the cake, mostly eating the batter.

Kate was adamant that Mark's cake be pink. She really thought he needed a pink cake.

I realized that this was the only picture I had of Mark on his birthday. I'm sure he'll really appreciate that I posted this goofy one.
