Sisters

We had a great weekend with Amber and Athena here. Kate has been sick all week, but she perked up when her sisters came on Friday night. Amber had a horse riding birthday party to attend this weekend and Athena had Girl Scout cookies to deliver.

Amber and Athena were so sweet playing with Kate all weekend. I know they must get a little tired of having a toddler tagging along all the time, but they are great about it. They made a "school" in their bedroom for Kate and held classes all weekend. They wrote the ABC's on the chalkboard and sang with her. Kate can now say many of the letters at the right time in the song.

This morning Kate and Athena played Hullabaloo. Athena is such a great big sister!

Kate discovered her baby swing when she got into the closet today. She begged and begged to sit in it, so I finally gave in. I realized when I put her in it just how big she has gotten. It seems like yesterday that she looked so little sitting in the swing!

Say Cheese

This morning I was trying to get Kate to smile for a picture and told her to say cheese. It seemed to work and she had fun saying cheese.

Kate has decided that she is six. She knows that she is one, but if I ask her how old she is she without fail declares that she is six. She is such a comedian.

This evening we played dress up. Kate loves to dress up and look pretty. She always says,
"show Dada?" It is so precious that she loves for her Daddy to tell her that she is beautiful.

Nice Evening

We had a nice relaxing Sunday at home today, and my cousin Tyler, Sheanette & Ryan came for dinner tonight. Kate and Ryan were very cute together. They aren't quite old enough to play together, but seemed to enjoy each other's company.

Vanlentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! We had a great day celebrating with Kate. It was a good excuse to give her tons of hugs and kisses, not that we need one. Kate loved getting cards from Grandma Nink Nink and Happy Neil, Mimi and Papa, and her cousin Lauren. She kept yelling, "LUB" and "BALTINE" today. It was great.
Kate is wearing a dress that was mine when I was her age. Thanks for sending the clothes Mimi! Kate loves them. I don't think she quite understands that I actually wore them at one time, but that's okay.

17 Months

Kate is officially 17 months old - hard to believe that much time has passed. She is such a big girl now! We had an uneventful but great weekend. We had more sunny warm weather and spent lots of time playing outside. Kate is learning new words every day and is really stringing words together quite well. The other day she told Mark that "poop happens"! And no, she has never heard that expression before. That was a Kate original!

Here is Kate and Daddy working in the backhoe.

I put Kate's hair in little pig tails for the first time, which she really liked, but you can't tell from the picture. I think they look hilarious. Kate has been cutting teeth and has been much grumpier than usual. She was crying because she wanted to see the pictures I was trying to take.

Here is Kate behaving badly. I thought this was sort of funny.

Kate loves playing in the sandbox.

Kate learned how to go down the slide all by herself today and was so excited.

WEEEEEEE!

Let's go again Mom!
Here I go!
