No Big News

We haven't been doing much lately. We all had a terrible stomach flu last weekend, and Kate has a cold this weekend, so we've been taking it easy. The only new thing around here is that Kate has taken to wearing dresses, and wants to wear a dress all the time. She is very into pretty things and either wants to be a princess or a ballerina. I got her these sparkly pink shoes, and she won't take them off. She wears them around the house, and even tries to sleep with them.

Dressing Up

Kate and Amber had a great time playing dress up the other morning. They were both up early before Athena, as usual. Amber decided to be Kate's stylist and Kate was a willing model. Here are just a few of the looks...

Kate & Mommy Day

Yesterday was the first day in a while that I didn't have other kids, and didn't have a bunch of other stuff to accomplish. I decided that it would be a good day to spend some special time with just Kate and I. We went to the Butterfly Pavilion ( Butterfly Tabillion, as Kate calls it), lunch, then had ice cream. We had tons of fun. It was really nice to be able to focus all my attention on Kate for a change.

Kate decided to help herself to some lotion after she got out of the bath.

Kate liked looking at all the insect exhibits.

There were lots of really big spiders. Kate liked the ones that were behind glass, but almost started to cry when we got close to the very large tarantula that the kids could hold.

There were also fish tanks and other sea creatures that could be touched. Kate really liked the star fish and the horseshoe crab.

Kate started yelling, "Nemo!" when we got to this tank. Dori was there too.

This picture is a little hard to see, but there is a butterfly in the middle that was huge. Each wing was as large as one of my hands.

Kate kept walking around with her arm out, hoping that a butterfly would land on her. It was really cute.

This is Sunshine the turtle.

Kate was very excited about the juice box that came with her lunch. Funny, the things that excite children sometimes.

Kate had "pink" ice cream after lunch. It didn't matter what flavor it was, she just wanted pink.

I'm really bummed out that I took this video vertical, but thought it was really cute. Kate spontaneously started dancing to the music playing outside the ice cream shop. People driving by were laughing and smiling at her.

Ice Skating

We took the girls ice skating while Linda was here. It was Kate's first time on skates. She wasn't that into it until we took her skates off. She really liked scooching around on the ice with her snow boots the best. Amber and Athena had a great time.
